Our Cause

THIS IS THE HOUSE THAT LOVE BUILT.

2019 was a big year for Hospice Halifax through the generosity of Feeling the Love supporters, our spectacular volunteers and community, we were able to realize our organizations dream of opening the very first hospice in Nova Scotia. Since our opening in May 2019, we have been able to deliver on our mission of providing the very best end-of-life care possible to families in our community, and are on track to serve 150 families within our first year of operations.

From around-the-clock professional nursing care, to warm, inviting spaces, good food, licensed counselling and social work support, and on site family accommodations, Hospice Halifax offers all its services without associated fees. The hospice residence is an inclusive space where patients and their families receive personalized, dignified end-of-life care.

Every year, we will welcome about 150 patients who have a terminal illness and are nearing the end of their lives. About 1,800 community members – patients’ extended family, friends and colleagues – will also have access to support at hospice.

FEELING THE LOVE 2020

Dinner and dance. Silent auction. And loads of fun!

Meet up with longtime friends and colleagues at the Halifax Convention Centre and start the evening with a round of drinks. Peruse our exclusive silent auction. Next, head into the grand ballroom with your guests and take a seat at your reserved table for a gourmet meal. Our spectacular sweet dessert buffet closes the meal and kicks off the night as we welcome nearly 400 additional guests for the post-dinner party and dance. Back by popular demand, live bands Asia & NuGruv will keep dance floor moving, and new this year, DJ Dollar will turn up the heat towards the end of the night, for a second wave of fun.

The evenings schedule looks something like this:

6:00 PM – Doors open for our pre-dinner reception & silent auction
7:00 PM – Guests transition into the ballroom for dinner
8:30 PM – Dance guests arrive, live music begins and dessert is served
1:00 AM – Everyone has thoroughly felt the love and heads on home (or maybe to an after party!)

With the new hospice residence in it’s first year of operation, attending Feeling the Love is a great way to show your support!

Dress: classy, chic, cocktail attire!
